There used to be a cross on the site of the current chapel, which is mentioned during tours of the "Mörler Mark". According to a note by teacher Junker in the school chronicle of 1852, the chapel was built around 1700, which was confirmed by a copper plate dated 1699 that was found during a roof renovation. Count Casimir Ferdinand Adolph von Bassenheim had the chapel built as a private chapel shortly before his death.

The chapel is located on a round plateau surrounded by a stone wall. From the beginning, the entrance was accessed by an avenue of hornbeams, which is now protected as a natural monument and is regularly maintained through additional planting. The chapel has a trapezoidal floor plan with dimensions of 4.34 meters at the front, 2.95 meters at the back and 4.68 meters at the sides.

Although the Catholic parish of Kransberg has repeatedly covered the repair costs over the centuries, it has never become the owner of the chapel. All requests for transfer of ownership have been rejected by various governments, and even today the chapel does not belong to the church of Kransberg.

The chapel is open and freely accessible at all times.
