The church belongs to the parish in Chwarstnica and is a branch church. Together with the cemetery and the surrounding wall, it was entered into the register of architectural monuments. It was built in the first half of the 14th century and, like the village, belonged to the Cistercians from Kołbacz (the village was handed over to the Cistercians in 1282).

Architecturally, it is an early-Gothic, hall building without a choir or a tower, built of erratic stones. The chancel faces east. The church has three simple portals, without decorations, of which two - northern and southern - are exits, while the western one has been walled up. It was the entrance to the belfry-tower built in the 18th century, later liquidated. Inside the church there is a beamed wooden ceiling and a wooden gallery for the choir. The altar has two marble columns, between which there is a picture of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Outside, there is a skeletal tower made of wood, on which a historic bell from the dismantled tower has been hung.
