OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Villa Contarini - Camerini is one of the largest Venetian villas.[2] Baroque in appearance, it is located in the background of the main square of Piazzola sul Brenta (Padua), porticoed and semicircular.
In 1546 Paolo and Francesco Contarini had the central body of the villa built. The central nucleus, which was probably designed by the architect Andrea Palladio,[1] was subsequently incorporated into the late 17th century expansion commissioned by Marco Contarini, giving the complex its current Baroque appearance.
After a long period of decay, the purchase in 1852 by the rich entrepreneurial family of the Camerini di Castel Bolognese led to its current layout, with extensive restoration work and actual renovations. At the end of the 19th century, the vast English park that characterizes it to the north was also created, over 40 hectares with fish ponds, lakes and tree-lined avenues. (Source Wikipedia)
