A “workshop for the world” - that was the city of Solingen with its cutlery manufacture at the end of the 19th century. In the Hendrichs drop forge of the LVR industrial museum in Solingen you can still experience how the red-hot splits are forged into scissors blanks with a loud roar, how it cracks and hisses. You will learn exciting things about the history of the famous Solingen cutlery industry. (Source LVR)

The drop forge Hendrichs is a museum site of the LVR-Industriemuseum in Solingen. From 1886 to 1986 scissors blanks were forged here and partly further processed. The Drop Forge is an anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage (ERIH) and part of the Network Industrial Heritage Bergisches Land.
