There are also restaurants for museum guests on the museum grounds. These are three half-timbered houses in the Lower Saxony style, which were built in a similar arrangement to the round villages in the Hanoverian Wendland.
The "bakery" was put into operation in 1983. It is a "four-column Lower Saxony house" and has space for 250 guests.
To the left of the bakery is the "bread house". The essential stylistic elements of this house were modeled on the historic bakery on the Meyer-Thies farm in Groß Oesingen. In this house, various types of bread are baked in two wood-fired stone ovens using natural sourdough and coarse flour, according to old traditions and recipes.
To the right of the bakery, the "traditional costume house" was put into operation in 1990. This house was built in a similar style to the bakery. However, it is much larger and has space for 500 guests. At the end of the large hall, where the open fireplace used to be, there are now two large wood-fired stone ovens stacked one above the other.
