        The cable car route connects the corkscrew route with Müngsten/Remscheid and is relatively (!) steep. Halt mostly an old railway line.
        Uphill it pulls, downhill it gets fast.
        Above is the Theegartener Kopf with a wonderful view, below is the Müngsten Bridge Park with bridge, rest area and access to other routes

          The mountain railway route is a popular cycle route to get from Solingen to the Müngsten Bridge Park (mainly downhill 😄) and the other way around (mainly uphill ☹️).

            The cable car route in Solingen between Grunenburg and Halfeshof (Meigen) is part of official tours and is also often recommended in Komoot, and rightly so.

            However, extensive forestry work is currently taking place on both sides of the route (June 2023 - duration?). The result: heavy machinery is currently driving along the route and is causing serious damage in places. The water-bound top layer has been broken up and the coarse base layer has been plowed to the surface. Driving along the route is possible with the necessary caution, but this significantly limits the driving pleasure on this forest route. It has also happened to me that the cable car route was not closed at the ends, but only immediately before the work area. I inevitably had to turn around to take the alternative route via the B229...

            Because komoot offers no other option, I recorded a "micro" tour so that I could include photos for documentation, "downlights" so to speak!😉

            Conclusion: The cable car route, which is generally highly recommended, is currently only accessible with the restrictions mentioned.

            I will adjust this comment when I "learn" about changes in the situation.

            Update 04/30/24:
            The forestry work seems to have been completed. The path surface has not yet been restored to its previous state (level top layer). This means that in large areas you drive on the coarse-grained material of the base layer. Before the forestry work, driving on the cable car route was much more pleasant.
