The lighthouse Knock is certainly one of the most unusual fire carriers on Germany's shores. The gray building was built in 1966 after several years of construction primarily as a control center for the radar chain of the Emsschifffahrt and is therefore dominated by a large radar on the top of the 55 -meter-high building. The actual monitoring center is located in the large sweeping floor in the lower third. On the roof of the headquarters is then also the actual beacon at a height of 29 m, which in turn a rotating radar antenna was placed.
The tower, which looks unusual as a lighthouse, has several functions: it serves as a beacon, as a radar and radio tower and as the Ems traffic center for monitoring navigation on the Ems (Wikipedia).
