The former sexton's house on the Christenberg had some previous buildings. This last sexton's house was built in the first half of the 19th century. The associated stable and barn have already been demolished. Before the Waldgasthaus on Christenberg was opened, food and drinks were served in the sexton's house. Today it serves as a small museum. If it is not open, the key can be obtained from the Waldgasthaus.

Otto Ubbelohde liked the former sexton's house so much that he chose it as a model for the illustration of the witch's house for the fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" by the Brothers Grimm.
