Scotsman David Livingstone was the first European to see and document the Victoria Falls. He named the impressive falls after the then Queen of England. The falls have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989
The statue was created by sculptor W. R. Reid Dick and unveiled in 1934. There were several attempts to remove or relocate it, but it was ultimately left on the Zimbabwe side overlooking the Devil's Cataract.
