The pearl of Treviso

Thanks to its panoramic position on the hills north of Treviso, Asolo is often called the "pearl of Treviso" or "the city of a hundred horizons". Visible from afar, the ruins of the Rocca dominate the view of the picturesque mountain town. Numerous artists, writers, actors and heads of state have been inspired by the small town. Around the city there are many historic villas and magnificent country estates that offer the ideal setting for relaxing moments. From the Venetian-Cypriot Queen Caterina Cornaro to the romantic Englishman Robert Browning to the actress Eleonora Duse, many famous people have owned a house in Asolo. Even today, the picturesque town with its fabulous streets, fragrant gardens and breathtaking mountain scenery is a paradise for romantics.

Asolo is much more than a romantic jewel in the mountains. An important wine center in the Treviso region, Asolo is also known for producing quality local wines from Prosecco to Merlot.
