It is included in the Sierra de Aracena y los Picos de Aroche Natural Park, one of the most important protected areas in the Community. Its town center and the Church of San Sebastián are classified as Assets of Cultural Interest. The Hermitage of San Antonio, the Hermitage of Cristo del Rosario, the old Plaza de Toros and the place known as Las Tobas are also interesting. During the 19th century it had a certain economic boom due to the establishment of a cork industry by the Catalans.
