The Balcony of the World is a natural viewpoint of the Tagus river canyon, the Roman bridge of Alcántara and the silhouette of the urban complex of the town of Alcántara. In the background also appears the imposing 134 meter high concrete wall of the dam of the José María de Oriol-Alcántara II reservoir.
