The St. Pauli-Landungsbrücken are an ensemble of buildings along the Elbe worth seeing, a popular meeting place, a frequently seen photo opportunity, the exit for harbor tours and the best vantage point for the wide harbor area. The first wooden jetty at this point was built in 1839. It served as a landing stage for overseas steamers, including the large HAPAG liners that docked here. The ships could be filled with coal relatively easily from here; moreover, due to the risk of fire associated with the operation, a risk should be avoided and a sufficient safety distance ensured. Today's jetty, built from 1907, consists of floating pontoons that are accessible from the mainland via nine movable bridges.

The St. Pauli Landungsbrücken are a large pier on floating pontoons for passenger ships on the northern edge of the Port of Hamburg. The Landungsbrücken were first built at the beginning of the 20th century and had to be partially rebuilt after they were destroyed in the war in the 1950s.
