From here you can skip the Kiel Fjord boat trip across the fjord, either to the city center of Kiel (Bahnhofskai) or directly to the other bank of the Förde (Laboe, Mönkeberg, Möltenort) to take your tour there. continue through the Probstei or along the Baltic Sea Cycle Path towards Hohwacht and Fehmarn or simply shorten the trip once to save the Kiel Fjord (approx. 40 km) 😉
The trip with the Förde steamers is then not exactly cheap in my opinion, so a barely 15 minute crossing from Falckenstein to Laboe costs € 6.20 (1 adult + bike), but is certainly also an experience.

Unfortunately, the ferry drives regularly, but not as described in the timetable.
Thus we had 1.5 hours waiting time then to Laboe for 4 pers. + Bicycles to pay 24 €.
Not really a tip!

The Falckenstein beach is the longest beach in Kiel. A fine sandy beach with breathtaking views of the most beautiful cruise ships and ferries that pass close by so that you can almost touch them.
The view from the ferry terminal is even better.
