The construction drawings were available in August 1898. Architect Möbius from Berlin took over the local construction management for the new town hall in October 1898. The city set up a special town hall building department, which Möbius took over as head. He was supported by construction assistant Schütz, who died after a few months, construction assistant Kramer and construction clerk Stürz.[4]

The Dessau town hall is a landmark of the city of Dessau and the seat of the city administration of Dessau-Roßlau, built between 1898 and 1901 according to plans by the Charlottenburg architects Reinhardt and Süßenguth.
With a total height of 73 meters, the town hall tower is the highest tower in Dessau. Over 159 steps lead to a viewing platform at a height of 41.24 meters.[1]
