During the occupation, there was a camp for Soviet POWs in Olchowce - Stalag 327. As a result of deliberate extermination and the conditions in the camp, thousands of prisoners died. The rest were shot during the liquidation of the camp. The victims were buried in mass graves not far from the camp. After the war, a cemetery was established at the burial site.
