If you're looking for a few more meters of altitude on the way from AB through Obernburg, you can easily climb up to 13% here, then turn left three times and you'll come out back in OB directly at the roundabout near the ice cream parlor - great fun in both directions really great view!

I have no idea why the mountain bears his name. Perhaps because it is so steep and long and its climbers (that's how it's written) quickly show that you have to use your last life preserver and are just not as fit as you think. 🛟 Or because a resourceful tour planner just came up with a funny name to raise questions: I can't tell you. 🤔

What I do know, however, is that you can always incorporate the mountain into your tours. I've driven up to the Altmauerhöhe from this side twice now and I think that little bit is really poisonous! ☠️
