Great descent with breathtaking views to Pontresina. A few sections with rope protection or steps, but still doable. At the end you can take the chairlift to Pontresina, which is easy on the knees ...
The descent is very nice. The path is exposed and steep in many places. Rope safety devices are available in some places. I would only recommend the descent to really sure-footed hikers. But for them it is a really nice way to enjoy the view of the impressive Bernina massif.
The few exposed places are secured with new ropes and the path is well maintained. Nevertheless, caution is advised. Better to stop once more to enjoy the view. In fact, stumbling in some sections could have serious consequences.
