Hintersteiner See natural bathing lake
A natural jewel that you have to see. The Hintersteiner See above Scheffau is considered to be one of the most beautiful and cleanest mountain lakes in Tyrol and is located in the Kaisergebirge nature reserve and at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser.
You can drink the water of the Hintersteiner See, the mountain lake impresses with its drinking water quality.
It is really unique to bathe in its crystal clear water after or during a bike tour in the Kaiser Mountains.
A beautiful lawn with a small beer garden welcomes visitors to the bathing establishment on the lake. There are other snack stations on the lake that invite you to stop.
The lake is not overcrowded either, at least not when I was at the lake.
The Hintersteiner See is also the location of the Bergdoktor and the crime series SOKO Kitzbühl.
Either you hike to the lake or you ride your bike, an absolutely fantastic experience.
The return trip to Söll by bike is one long downhill ride, a dream. It's a great pleasure.
