The Evangelical St. Dionysius Church on the Kirchwarft in Dagebüll church was built in 1731. It took the name of a chapel that was in decline and no longer commensurate with the size of the congregation, and which was demolished in April of that year as part of the renovation work.
The new church was consecrated on September 16, 1731. Since then it has been rebuilt several times: in 1860 and 1863 the thatched roof was replaced by a slate roof in two stages, in 1892 the western wall was renewed and in 1909 the wooden bell tower was replaced by a massive western tower.
In 1866 an organ was donated to the church by parishioners.

Behind the church on the dike is a bench with a wonderful view and ideal for a picnic. You sit there in the shelter of the tall trees that stand around the church.
