The Burghof is a place with tradition: The "Molenhof" estate was located on the area at Marienstraße 108 as early as the 16th century. In 1906 the current building was erected as a residential building with an Art Nouveau inn.

The sign of the Citizens' Riflemen's Society reads:
"Zum Burghof" Built in 1906
The Molenhof estate stood on the site of today's "Zum Burghof" restaurant in the 16th century.
A "Peter in gen Molen" was mentioned as early as 1516. In 1736, this estate had 42 acres of agricultural land under cultivation.
In 1859, a "Roman grave" was uncovered on the estate. Roman jugs, plates and a bronze coin were discovered as grave goods.
The Burchartz family owned this property in the middle of the 19th century.
The current building, a residential house with an inn, was built in the Art Nouveau style in 1906. Josef Gietz took over the inn from Josef Finck in 1920.
In 1929, the restaurant was advertised as follows:
"Large excursion restaurant, beautiful function rooms, shady garden, outdoor dancing, event hall and parquet bowling alley".
The Burghof is the last restaurant in Fischeln whose event hall is still in use today and is therefore often the center of social, political and club life in Fischeln. The Burghof has been owned by the Gietz family for more than 90 years (until 2015).
