Terespol Powder Magazine - a facility built in 1913, part of the Terespol suburb of the Brest Fortress. Five years later - in 1918 - Poland regains its independence and becomes its host. Until the outbreak of World War II, it was under the care of the Polish Army. Then it falls into the hands of the Third Reich (Germany). In 1941, it houses the headquarters of the 45th Wehrmacht Division, which served, among others, Josef Kurt Waldheim (later Secretary General of the United Nations (1972-1981) and President of Austria (1986-1992). After the end of the war the Powder Magazine returns to Polish possession. Since then it has been systematically degraded as a warehouse and economic facility. is entered in the register of monuments. In 2010, the progressive degradation of the Powder Magazine is prevented by the informal organization of regional enthusiasts - the Terespol Group of Fortifications and History Enthusiasts. From year to year, thanks to the disinterested support and social commitment of enthusiasts, it changes its face. The powder magazine becomes a museum open to visitors, offering an interesting history lesson. So far, several exhibitions have been prepared - halls: - Polish Legions and the Constitution of May 3 - railway (History of the Warsaw-Terespolska Railway) - ethnographic - military - aviation and craftsmanship. prepares exhibitions , takes care of the facility and exhibits, but also shares professional knowledge. When there is a need for guides - they turn into craftsmen. They perform the work socially - without expecting payment - cleaning, renovation, and innovation.

The gentlemen built perfect models of the old Terespol and the Royal Castle
Terespol powder magazine is a historic building from 1913. . You can see here many military and ethnographic exhibits as well as thematic exhibitions entitled: "Terespolski cucumber", "Warsaw-Terespol railway", "Money for the world" and "Telephone cards of Europe". The facility can also be proud of, among others a replica of the Nordenfelt 57mm caponier fortress cannon. For over two years now, the Terespol Group of Fortifications and History Lovers has been in charge of the Gunpowder House. With the contribution of their social work, the members restore the building to the appearance of its heyday. They also show tourists around. Anyone can come, visit the facility and receive from the guides a large dose of the history of Terespol and the surrounding area.
The powder magazine is open Mon-Sat. from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.
Sundays (only in summer) from 15.00 to 17.00
