The village church in Hohenselchow is a rectangular fieldstone hall made of field stone carved from the 13th century. During the Thirty Years' War the village was devastated and the church was destroyed. After the reconstruction after 1680, the church was probably destroyed again by a fire in the 16th century. 1754-56 a restoration took place.
The massive foundation of the timbered west tower extends across the entire width of the nave. On the basis of this tower, a half-timbered tower with an arched dome and an ogival lantern was erected around 1727. Just before the end of the war, Hohenselchow was in the middle of the line of attack of the Russian troops and was destroyed in 60%. The tower almost fell and was knocked over by tractors in 1949. After 1945, it was rebuilt in a simplified form.
