This ancient factory was built on the Bardello river where mill wheels had existed since the 16th century. This then became twisting in the 18th century; it was subsequently purchased by the Cantons, well-known cotton industrialists, in the mid-19th century to make it a cotton mill; it became a barracks for the Bersaglieri during the Second World War, and finally the Sonnino cover factory. Purchased and renovated by the Municipality of Besozzo, it is now an impromptu location for theatrical and pictorial performances, artistic happenings and trade fair events.
