Here you can find information (in Swedish) about the former railway connection from Halmstad to Bolmen.
The "Halmstad-Bolmen Järnväg" was a 64 km long narrow gauge line and was opened on November 4th, 1889. It was the last section of the private narrow-gauge railway from Karlshamn to Halmstad.
A special feature on the route was the Lärkan steam railcar. It consisted of a tank locomotive with a cabin for passengers and luggage. (In use from 1889 to 1933)
The decommissioning took place in 1966.
A cycle path now runs along a large part of the route and the E1 (European long-distance hiking trail 1) also uses it as a path.
