    From a book from 1843:

Oberstetten, rich city of Rothenburg, Protestant towns and districts, bordering on the closed Landheeg and 4 hours from the city towards Niederstetten, in the so-called Beyheeg.

This patch has 75 municipal rights and 80 to 90 citizens (note: only men), some of whom live solely from agriculture, some of whom are craftsmen, some of whom do both at the same time.
    In 1767 there were: 3 wainwrights, 3 tailors, 3 bricklayers, 3 bakers, 5 millers, 2 carpenters, 2 butchers, 2 carpenters, 2 shoemakers, 2 blacksmiths, 1 saddler and 1 glasser.

Wildenthierbach, Heimberg and Hachtel also belong to the Oberstetten district. The official administrator has the power to punish in minor matters.
The Rothenburg tax office, the local pastor and individual private individuals share in the grain tithe, each in the relevant district.

The Rothenburg Hospital has the largest share of the wine tithe, which is also considerable because of the strong viticulture in the area, followed by the pastor and individual private individuals.

The parish priests numbered 650 in 1727 and 696 in 1774.

According to the judgment of 1572, all Rothenburg citizens are exempt from wine duty.

A book from 1826 says about the plague years 1626 and 1634:

From the death register of Oberstetten with the parish of Aichswiesen:

The plague raged here twice during the Thirty Years' War. The first time in 1626, in which year 259 people died.
From the beginning of the year to the end of April there were only 9 deaths, in May none, in June 2, in July 5, in August 7, in September 31, in October 106, in November 82 and in December 17.
In October only 2 days passed, namely the 2nd and 18th without a corpse, but on many 4 and more were buried together, 6 burials on one day occurred on October 21st, 24th, 25th, on the 26th became 7, on October 27 even buried 10 people at once.
In November up to the 19th not a day went by without a corpse, only on the 20th, 26th, 27th, 28th and 30th there was none.
Six funerals in one day met on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th.
      Seven funerals on November 21st.
Mayor Frey was buried on October 24th, Pastor Mag. Hopf on November 3rd.

In the second year of the plague, 1634, 127 people were buried, of whom 109 died of the plague. It began again only in the second half of the year, with the month of September, raged most violently in October and abated in December.

45 people were buried in October, 39 in November and 6 in December.

The office building was probably built at the beginning of the 18th century.

After 1648 (after the Thirty Years' War), Rothenburg had to mortgage Oberstetten and Wildentierbach and other villages to Hermann von Hatzfeld zu Haltenbergstetten due to the high debts. His brother, the Bishop of Würzburg, was involved in the transaction.

By 1676, Rothenburg had the villages back. To save costs, the Oberstetten office was set up, which also included Wildentierbach, Hachtel and Heimberg. The office building was built for administration purposes.

Above the entrance door is J. Peter Habel, 1810.
After Oberstetten became part of Württemberg in 1810, the office building was no longer needed.
The house was sold in 1810 and J. Peter Habel set up an inn there.
