As a runner, it serves as a good reference point.
The approximately 11 meter high Pilsum lighthouse was completed at the end of the 19th century as one of four beacons on the East Frisian North Sea coast. Its yellow-red "striped sock paint" gives it its unmistakable appearance and made the lighthouse one of the most famous landmarks in East Friesland. In order to climb the 28 steps, you need to take part in a guided tour, because the lighthouse is only open at certain times.

The lighthouse in Pilsum is probably the most famous landmark in East Frisia. The yellow and red striped lighthouse from the 19th century is visible from afar. Since 2004, East Frisia lovers have been able to get married here in a civil ceremony. Pure romance in an unmistakable natural landscape.
The small yellow-red Pilsum lighthouse was built in 1988 and is considered a landmark of the Krummhörn - Greetsiel holiday region. The lighthouse is approx. 11 m high and has 28 steps to the top.
The tower became a "main protagonist" of the backdrop of Otto Waalke's famous film.
