    The Agnel Pass is located on the border between France and Italy. At 2,744 meters, it is one of the highest passes in France. From Guillestre, the climb is 42 kilometers long with an average gradient of 4.13%. However, from Château-Ville-Vieille, the climb is 21 kilometers with an average gradient of 6.6%. The last section is particularly difficult as the air becomes thinner.

        The Col Agnel is right on the border between France and Italy. From the Italian side (Colle dellAgnello) it should be more difficult to drive.
        The starting altitude in Guillestre is about 1000m.
        From there you drive through the Le Guil Gorge for quite a while.
        From Ville-Vielle (at about 1380m) there are still 20.8km to the pass after the roundabout.
        It has already been climbed in both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France.

                  The Colle dell'Agnello, known in France as Col Agnel, is a mountain pass in the Cottian Alps, located on the border between Italy and France. Being at 2,744, the Agnello pass has the third highest paved road of the Alps, only behind the Stelvio Pass and the Col de l'Iseran.

                    An exceptional pass, thanks to its beauty and wild nature. The last 5 km are truly challenging for an old car, but the panorama at the summit is breathtaking.

                        From either side, the Col d'Agnel is one of the most beautiful climbs in the Alps and rewards with magnificent views at the top. I would agree with Ciclingsir, the last 10 km are really demanding from the Italian side and therefore more difficult than from the French side.
