Very pretty little tourist town, very active in summer (night market, largest market in Indre et Loire every Sunday, cultural activities, etc.;)
Ideal starting point for cycling loops with a large network of loops departing from Amboise: marandoavelo.fr/fiches/les-reseaux-de-boucles/autour-d-amboise-et- chenonceaux
Consider crossing the bridge and going to the Ile d'Or to have a wider view of the castle :)
Not to be missed: the Château d'Amboise and Clos-Lucé, the essentials.
Stop by the BIGOT pastry-chocolate factory on Place du Château for a snack break :)
Amboise is a town on the Loire River with 12,761 inhabitants in central France in the département of Indre-et-Loire in the Center-Val de Loire region, about 20 km east of Tours. It is the capital of the canton of the same name. Wikipedia
The Sunday market offers the cyclist many things to eat and drink, whether sweet (pancakes, pastries, coffee ...) or salty (cold meats, paella, chickens ...). The docks are impractical to borrow on bikes because of car traffic. The bridge was recently fitted out and offers a little more comfort than before ... The city offers many shops, and of course a famous castle to visit.
