The official tour ends at the Espigao Túnel, but the levada can be continued for those who are free from giddiness after the tunnel!

The tunnel, which is very humid in the beginning, can still be passed through well. However, you should turn back after 15 minutes before the second tunnel. Lt. Locals could go on but still. A total of 5 tunnels to Serra de Aqua. The condition up to the second tunnel was for giddiness-free hikers o.k.

After the Espigao Tunel, the path along the levada becomes more and more exposed. Shortly before the second tunnel, we turned back (as recommended in our hiking guide).

According to Komoot, there are paths leading to Espiago in front of and behind the tunnel... Remnants of these can still be seen, but they are completely overgrown and can only be walked by those who are very risk-taking.
