The castle is located on an island, exactly opposite Schärding. There's a school in here now. You can go through. From the water side you have a beautiful view of Schärding.

On a rock massif in the Inn, Neuhaus Castle was an institute of the English Misses until 2011. In the 14th century by the Bavarians. Dukes built it on a rock to protect the Inn Bridge in Schärding. 1750-52 reconstruction of what is now the oldest part. The Munich builder Johann Michael Fischer carried out the redesign in the Rococo style.
There was a frequent change of ownership over time. In 1859 the Institute of the English Misses von Burghausen was bought by Princess Auguste v. for 9,000 guilders. Auersperg acquired the castle and established the first subsidiary. An institute was built in the monastery.
Due to the increasing number of students, an extension became necessary, which was adapted to the baroque building of the castle. Between the old and new buildings, an artistically decorated Baroque church was built in 1902/1903 by the Munich architect J. B. Schott under the direction of the Sulzbach master builder Capellaro, which was a parish church until 1974.
