The half-timbered houses in Châlons center are one of the charms of this city in the Champagne region. They mainly date from the 16th and 17th centuries and testify to the richness and diversity of the architecture of that period. You can admire them along the streets and squares of the historic center, such as Place Foch, Rue Croix-des-Teinturiers, Rue de l'Oratoire and Rue des Lombards. Some half-timbered houses also have beautiful decorations, such as carved wood, painted panels or stained glass windows.
