The beginnings of the castle go back to around 1600. Over time, this property developed into an agricultural estate with several buildings. During the Baroque period, the buildings and gardens were gradually redesigned according to the principles of the time. Today the castle as well as the farm buildings and possessions are privately owned. Unfortunately, the castle cannot be visited.

On the way through Rathsberg, it is worthwhile to tip into the small cul-de-sac and take a look at the old castle walls. However, you cannot get in and can only look from the outside.
