The Paltrock windmill was built in 1946 in Frenz by the Kühn company from a post windmill that had previously been moved from another location. It was then dismantled in 1990/91 and rebuilt in 1992/93 at its current location in Parey. Before that, there was another Paltrockmühle at this point. It went back to a post mill that had been built by the master carpenter W. Hoppe from Güsen. In 1904 it belonged to the Ogen family after several changes of ownership. Master miller A. Ogen then had the Mühlbock converted into a Paltrockmühle by the Kühn company in 1951 or 1952. It offered more space and automatically turned into the wind with its compass rose. It was the last commercial wind-powered mill in the GDR. However, it was completely destroyed by a lightning strike on May 1, 1983 and was finally replaced by today's mill.
