The village of Vawerka has been known since 1413, when the wooden church of St. Francis was founded here, later re-consecrated in the name of the Holy Trinity.
In the middle of the 16th century, it became a Calvinist collection and "returned" to Catholicism only on the eve of its destruction in the Thirteen Years' War (1654-1667). Restored in 1841 by the Kostrovitskys, this temple under the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord was recorded at the beginning of the 20th century by the famous master of photography Jan Balzunkevich. By that time, the Waver parish had already numbered more than 10 thousand parishioners, therefore, in 1927-1928. The Church of the Transfiguration was expanded under the leadership of the Vilna architect Belka. In 1936, an organ for 15 voices appeared in the church. Source: planetabelarus.by
