This station was also a loading dock for iron ore, which was extracted from Las Menas. You can also take the Vía Verde del Hierro towards Baza. There are public services, where you can load the water bottle and relieve yourself.

The restaurant is excellent, I had the best Patatas Bravas & Croquetas I've had in Spain. Definitely worth a stop. However, if your heading in the direction of Baza, you have an 11.5Km ascent on a full stomach. An easy 2%, steady, gradient, but still tough on a happy belly.
