The Shackleton Valley is a broad valley on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic. From Stromness Harbour, it runs in a west-northwest direction. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1991 after the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, who, together with Thomas Crean and Frank Worsley, had succeeded in crossing South Georgia for the first time in the course of his Endurance Expedition (1914-1917) in May 1916.
