Saksild Church is located in Hads Herred, not far from the coast, about 25 kilometers south of Aarhus.
A smaller nave and chancel were built in Romanesque style from boulders in the mid-12th century. At the end of the Middle Ages it was extended to the west and the tower and probably also the north-facing porch were built in Mönchsstein.
