In Stegen, for example, the village square with a café, the ecumenical community center and the multi-purpose hall (both architectural features), the primary school and the kindergarten are located in this area. Many, many years ago, instead of the multi-purpose hall, there was a soccer field between Schulstraße and the elementary school. There is one now a few meters to the east.

In "grey days" the street was popularly known as "Grasweg". Presumably only very few people who have always been locals know that in Stegen, which has grown due to influx for decades.

This school street is closed to motorized traffic and is therefore quite interesting to drive, even if it is quite short. You have a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains of the Black Forest, e.g. Feldberg, Todter Mann and many more (yes, "dt" is correct, not "Toter Mann" - but like "Todtnau", "Todtmoos", "Todtnauberg").
