Haus Hameren is located directly on Coesfelder Strasse and is on the 100 Castles Route on the south route. 100-schloesser-route.de
The moated castle with its barely altered residential tower from 1325, Gothic chapel and outer bailey with bacon layer masonry is now a listed building.

The water castle Haus Hameren is located on two rectangular islands. From the middle of the 16th century the property was divided into two castle houses for more than two hundred years. The older part, Hamern-Raesfeld Castle, is on the eastern island.
A tower granary from 1593, a baroque farm building and a neo-Gothic castle chapel from 1869 still stand here.
The youngest part, the Hameren-Schildern Castle, impresses above all with its round tower, built around 1600 in Dutch bacon masonry from bricks and evenly laid strips of ashlar. The two-wing farm building with the square corner tower was also built using the Specklage technique.
