From col de tende to here, the alta via del sale is quite easy to ride on a touring bike. But the descent from the pass is very rough, like other parts of the route to Colle Melosa. 40 tire width was actually not enough.

The road becomes quite bad from this point. Loose rocks, very uneven surface, probably from being paved decades ago. Very bumpy. Would recommend a mtb from this point (direction tende => pigna) would not do this part again with 40/ 622 tires
