The Old Town Hall was built in 1844/45 by Karl Alexander von Heideloff in the neo-Gothic style. The two-story plastered building is characterized by the three-axis central risalit and the stair gable with an octagonal, pointed helmet gable rider as a conclusion. In front is an arbor supported by columns with tracery parapets. The facade is reserved, but effectively decorated with neo-Gothic decorative shapes.
Noteworthy are Breite Straße and Schulstraße with cobblestones and a predominantly two-storey, uniform building.

Since I grew up in Sonneberg, I still know the old town when I close the border. A lot has happened since then. The town hall and the surrounding houses have been lovingly renovated. The district court has a very modern look. I like the old town.
