Monument to Athletes Fallen in World War I in Szczecin - the monument was created in the 1920s to commemorate the members of the German Gymnastic and Sports Society Szczecin-Drzetowo who died on the fronts of World War I.
The monument consists of two parts of a halved boulder placed next to each other - forming an open book, on the "pages" of which are engraved the names of seven fallen athletes and the text: Den im Weltkriege 1914-1918 gefallenen Turnern gewidmet vom Turn- und Sportverein Stettin Bredow v. 1861 e.V. Above the text there is an image of an iron cross and a sign that is most likely a symbol of a sports association.
For many years after World War II, the monument was not known, because the boulders constituting it were knocked over in such a way that the inscriptions became invisible, and the entire monument resembled a natural boulder. Work to restore the monument to its original appearance began in 2007.
