The Pic du Mas de la Grave refuge is built on the ruins of the Baraques des Salomons. It is located in the commune of La Grave, 6 kilometres/1h30 from the hamlet of Chazelet, at the bottom of the Buffe valley, facing the majestic north face of La Meije (3983 m).
The refuge is the ideal stage to climb the peak of Mas de la Grave, an "easy 3000" with a magnificent 360° panorama of the Ecrins, the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Grandes Rousses, the Savoie and the Mont Blanc. It also provides access to the Emparis plateau and its lakes, and to make crossings between the plateau and the Goléon.
