ブレヒト・ヴァイゲル邸ブッコウは、1977年からベルトルト・ブレヒトとヘレーネ・ヴァイゲルの記念館となっています。この芸術家夫婦は、1952年からこの地を夏の住まいとして選んでいました。ベルトルト・ブレヒトはここで1953年に「ブッコウのエレジー」を書きました。
ブレヒトの死後である1956年、ヘレーネ・ヴァイゲルは引き続き多くのゲストをここに招き、1971年に亡くなるまで、ベルリンの自宅の他にこの邸宅を保養地として利用していました。1998年からは、記念館は毎年、朗読会、歌の午後、コンサート、座談会、ディスカッション、映画、展示会などを開催する文学の夏を主催しています。

The Brecht-Weigel House in Buckow is expanded to include a new visitor center. Brandenburg's Minister of Culture Manja Schüle (SPD) and District Administrator Gernot Schmidt broke ground on December 3rd, 2020. The visitor center is due to be completed in early 2022. An entrance pavilion is planned as a single-storey wooden body, the facades and roof surfaces of which are made of larch wood cladding. A total of almost 1.34 million euros is to be invested in the construction.
