this campsite is ideally located on the Verdon Gorge, above the bridge where the Lac de St Croix dams back into the Verdon River and thus into the gorge. If you cycle to the top of the campsite, there are wonderful spots under old oak trees, right on the trail to the gorge and with a beautiful view over the lake and the rocky beginning of the gorge. There is a restaurant and a kiosk down the street. At the bottom of the lake, within easy walking distance, there is a kayak rental. From here the gorge is easy to paddle. Inside you get the feeling of being in the Grand Canyon.
