In the middle of the traffic circle on Rosenhofstrasse at Enkenbach station stands a stone elephant pulling a plow. This extraordinary monument from 2006 is a reminder of the town's long circus tradition. When all the horses were needed at the front in World War I, the citizens of the Enkenbach-Alsenborn community had an unusual idea. Two elephants that had been left behind by a circus were harnessed for field work. The story comes from the son of master carpenter Schmitt, the man behind the plow.
