65 feet high, the Mont Dol juts out of the Marais, the shallow coastal strip of the Baie du Mont-Saint-Michel, and the way up is quite challenging. Once at the top you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the bay and the coastal landscape of northeastern Brittany and the neighboring Normandy.
According to a popular legend, Mont Dol was once the site of an altercation between the Archangel Michael and the Devil. Michael defeated the devil, leaving a footprint on the mountain.

The Moulin du Tertre is a windmill on the top of Mont Dol. Built in 1843, the flour mill is today owned by the municipality and is run by the Association Courous d'pouchés.
