The historic "Town Hall" is considered an outstanding monument to the city's economic heyday. It is a two-story, late Gothic quarry stone building that was built in the years 1545-1547.

Today it is used as a registry office. The Ratskeller restaurant is located downstairs in the house.

The historic "Town Hall" is considered an outstanding monument to the city's economic heyday. It is a two-storey late Gothic quarry stone building that was built in the years 1545-1547. The magnificent Renaissance pediment is the result of a 'modernisation' in the 1580s; the porch was created in 1859/60. The town hall was used for administrative and representative purposes as well as for council meetings and court hearings. In the originally three Ratskeller pubs on the ground floor and in the large council hall on the upper floor, receptions and celebrations (including weddings) also took place. Last but not least, the town hall was also used to store fire extinguishers and handguns to defend the city. The flags of the riflemen's guild and the shops of the guilds and guilds were also housed here.

The magnificent Renaissance gable is the result of a “modernization” in the 1580s; the staircase porch was built in 1859/60.

The town hall was used for administrative and representative purposes as well as for council meetings and court hearings. Ceremonial receptions and celebrations (including weddings) also took place in the original three Ratskeller pubs on the ground floor and in the large council hall on the upper floor. Last but not least, the town hall also served to store fire extinguishing equipment and small arms for the defense of the city. The flags of the shooting guild as well as the shops of the guilds and guilds were also housed here.
On the upper floor, the “legging masters” collected, checked and stored the canvas produced in the city.
