Church of S. Maria de Plateis in S. Anna, Catanzaro
The historical events of the Church of S. Anna are closely linked to the ancient parish of S. Maria de Plateis, or the square that, before its demolition due to the damage caused by the earthquake of 1783, stood in front of the Church of the Collegio del Gesù, the curtain of the buildings of the Paesello district - which was demolished in the Fascist era - and the Morano Palace, which later became the seat of the royal audience and currently the seat of the Prefecture. In the city there is a strong devotion to Saint Anne by the pregnant women, of whom she is the protector and who still today, as an ex voto, deon¬gono numerous blue and pink bows at the foot of the main altar.
